The Centre For Podiatric Medicine was established in 1994. Our accredited podiatrists all have sub-specialities, with a commitment to post graduate research, regular attendance at scientific meetings and lecturing at National and International Conferences. This ensures the Centre For Podiatric Medicine provides evidence based strategies for the benefit of our patients

As allied health care professionals, we work closely with physiotherapy, orthopaedics, sports physicians, massage, dieticians, and rheumatologists to offer a comprehensive treatment program & ensure our patients receive the best possible advice.

Dr Michael Kinchington PhD

Dr Michael Kinchington is a podiatric musculoskeletal sports medicine consultant who has an expertise in lower extremity injury prevention and minimization. He looks after both the domestic and international amateur and professional sporting communities.

He set up the Centre For Podiatric Medicine in 1994 and has been located in the middle of Sydney in a busy medical centre. He also has rooms at Moore Park (Stadium Sports Medicine), one of the Australia's leading sports medicine facilities. 

He has professional appointments at Sydney Swans (AFL), Australian Wallabies (ARU), Manly Sea-Eagles (NRL), Australian Defence Force (ADF), NSW Police and Rehabilitation Unit, Fire & Rescue NSW.

He was a Director of the medical program at Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games; provided consultancy to the medical program Athens (2004), Beijing (2008), London (2012); and Special Olympics (Nagano 2005; Shanghai 2007)

He provides medico-legal opinions to the insurance and legal communities, is available for independent medical reports pertaining to work place and sporting injury and offers consultancy to industry groups who require footwear, occupational medicine and prehabilitation injury advice.  Michael has a strong research background completing Masters Biomechanics (footwear) and PhD (sports medicine). His research of elite football injury minimization resulted in prestigious University awards (2012) and six peer-reviewed scientific publications (2010-2012).

Michael has a wide network of sports medicine professionals, which he utilises to optimise results for patient outcomes. Steve Aktipis

Podiatrist BHSci (Podiatry)

With over 20 years experience, Steve joined our team in early 2016 after running successful podiatry practices in Western Sydney and a distinguished sporting background in Football. Podiatry allows Steve to apply his knowledge and experience to help contribute to improving people’s health.

Speciality: biomechanics, gait analysis and orthotic prescription, general and ingrown nail care.

Sarah Bongioletti

Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry) Charles Sturt University.

Sarah has developed a great reputation as a clinical Podiatrist and is held in high regard by her ever growing list of clients and her peers.

Speciality: Biomechanics, orthotic therapy, nail surgery and keryflex nail restoration.

Gabriel Budwee

Bachelor of Podiatry, University of Newcastle; Diploma of Remedial Massage; completing a Bachelor of Pedorthics, Southern Cross University

Gabriel is a Podiatrist who offers diagnostic management, advice and treatment at the Centre for Podiatric Medicine.

With a background in professional sport as both a competitor & health professional, Gabriel has a keen interest in lower limb biomechanics and the treatment and prevention of sports injuries

Gabriel has worked with professional teams as part of the Medical team including the Sydney Swans, Sydney Thunder, Australian Paralympic Swim Team, and Melbourne Storm among others.

He is a cricket tragic having played both in Australia and in England as a semi -professional athlete and as a result can empathise first-hand with clients that have sports/activity related injuries.

Gabriel is in the final stages of completing a Bachelor of Pedorthics (Custom & Medical Footwear) at Southern Cross University, which will enable him to further pursue his interest in treating and preventing performance-related foot injuries with the customisation & design of footwear.

He is also involved in the Centre for Podiatric Sports Medicine Lower limb Injury & Footwear program in elite sport.

Speciality: Lower limb biomechanics and the treatment and prevention of sports injuries







Maryanne Lacey 

Maryanne has been Director of the Centre For Podiatric Medicine since 1994, managing the administration of the facilities at the MLC Centre, CBD Sydney (Martin Place) and Moore Park. With over 30 years of podiatry experience, Maryanne’s professional interests include Paediatrics, Diabetes, Wound Care and Primary Care.



Nicole Decker 

Diploma in Community Service Welfare 

Nicole has been the face of the reception staff over the last 13 years (and counting!)

She is a compassionate and empathetic receptionist who brings a lot of care to patients. She is always supportive and goes beyond to deliver exceptional service to each individual she encounters here at the practice.



Georgia Weiss 

Bachelor of Exercise and Health Science and Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Australian Catholic University 

Georgia is the newest member of the reception team, joining us at the end of 2017. She is a lovely and bubbly receptionist who brings a lot of joy and care to patients. She is caring and supportive and goes beyond to deliver exceptional service to each individual she encounters here at the practice.
